My Son as a Lost Boy in Peter Pan

I know I'm doing a lot of random posts lately, but it's summer!  We're not doing school right now so I don't have much to say about homeschooling.  Also, I'm taking a couple of classes this summer but I don't think you want to hear about anything I'm learning (yawn) so I'm just blogging when I can.

A few months ago my 10-year-old son, Ben, played "First Twin" in a local children's theater production of Peter Pan.  He had previously been in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with the same theater, so he knew the "ropes" so to speak.  I love theater, and I think children's theater is such a great opportunity for kids to gain confidence, develop dedication (3-4 rehearsals a week, memorizing lines, etc.), and just have tons of fun doing something unique.

New Blog Header

I've been failing miserably at finding a blog header that I like.  I tried using freebies and I tried making blog headers in Photoshop.  I just couldn't get it right for some reason.  Then I found a great tutorial at Blissfully Domestic to make a blog header in Picasa.  I had never used Picasa because I didn't think I needed it, what with my mad Photoshop skills and all (just kidding!).  But sometimes Photoshop is liking killing a fly with a bazooka.  Too much power for a simple job.  I haven't played with Picasa too much, but it worked great for the collage that I used for my header, and you can do basic retouching with it as well.  Have fun!
